Reintroducing Foregather

We help women to cultivate creative energy through practices for remembering our connections with self, community and earth.

Read about how we cultivate creative energy in our review of our first gathering in Hartland, UK, in September 2024.

An experimental gathering in service of creative energy

Foregather offers gatherings and practices that connect women more deeply to creative energy. Through remembering our relationship with self, community and the earth. Read more about us here.

About us

Laura and Emily are longtime friends and collaborators. We bring to Foregather both our experiences of cultivating creative energy and our gifts in hosting and making:

  • Laura, the gifts of creative direction, experience design and subtle plant
    and energy medicine

  • Emily, the gifts of facilitation, ceremony, grief tending and coaching

Laura is a creative director and strategist, designer, herbalist, and energy medicine practitioner. She offers creative advisory to ambitious changemakers and teams who are building towards more life-giving futures.

With decades of experience in creating and producing exhibitions, events, publications, digital products and communications, Laura curates powerful experiences that help people connect more deeply with their creative potential.

Past clients include the African Centre for Cities, Usborne Foundation, Moody Month, Clementine, Policy Lab, Nesta, European Commission, Barnardos Children’s Charity, Sport England, Department of Health, NHS Improvement and The Health Foundation. Laura lives and works between the UK and South Africa.

Emily helps people to gather in life-giving ways, and cultivate graceful transitions. She does this through facilitation, ceremony, grief tending and coaching, threaded with practices of remembering.

Emily is an experienced facilitator and coach, practised at creating enlivening collective experiences that unfold transformation, whether that’s a workshop, retreat, event, training programme, grief ritual or a bespoke ceremony.

Emily began her career as a strategist, designing public health behaviour change products and communications for millions of UK citizens. In the 15+ years since, she has supported social purpose organisations, changemakers and funders to collaborate regeneratively and develop irresistible strategies, products and experiences. Clients have included Doughnut Economics Action Lab, Moral Imaginations, MAIA, Foodwatch, Big Local, The National Lottery Community Fund, Thirty Percy, and UK and international governments.

Emily is also a speaker, writer, and the creator of GriefSick, an initiative that explores and bears witness to chronic illness grief. Emily lives in South Devon, UK, friend to Oak and River Exe.

We are grateful to

Our foremothers who guide us. The keepers of ancestral ways of being that the West is only now remembering. Ways of being that are more collective, more connected to land, elements, plants, animals and the ancestral and spirit worlds.

Britain and South Africa, the beautiful, maddening lands we call home.

We do not use AI for Foregather’s creative work. All words, photography and creations are by Laura and Emily, channelling creative energy, supported by our practices.
